Customer service.
We as a country used to know that this meant. Yet today, it is rare to find it. Instead, consumers slog through yet another mediocre service experience at a retail store, doctor's office, restaurant.
How did we get here?
We will be exploring this question over the next few entries in our blog. Suffice to say, we are here. And because we are here, we decided to do something about it.
You see, whether we are talking about real estate agents, car dealers, home improvement contractors, and a whole host of other professions, it is time for consumers to start demanding better service. It seems like we are just to0 tired, or fearful of conflict, or too busy, to make an impact.
So we created RevolutionsOnline.com for consumers like you and me. We created it to really do two things. First, we wanted to make a safe place where a consumer can speak the truth about the service they receive. It is a place where customers remain anonymous. Where they can sing praises, vent frustrations, and speak of virtues and vices. It is a place of free voices. It is a place where the truth lives.
Secondly, RevolutionsOnline.com is a place where service professionals and business that actually deliver great service can be rewarded. So often, these professionals are judged on one thing by consumers -- a low price. While price is important, RevolutionsOnline wants to help consumer refocus on the quality of service. This helps the best service providers be successful, and raises the bar of service expectations across entire industries.
We have selected a few industries where we believe customer service has historically been lacking due to the following reasons.
1. These service areas are infrequently used by consumers, and therefore consumers have little personal knowledge when selecting the person or business to use.
2. These service areas are complex, causing consumers to often feel overwhelmed or uneasy with the decision making process. Also, once a service provider has been selected, the difficulty of changing to a different service provider likely will only make the situation worse. So we end up settling when we find out our decision was not the best.
3. These service areas are costly. I find it odd that consumers will consult online reviews to purchase a meal or an electronic device, but do not seek out reviews for higher priced (and emotionally expensive) decisions like finding a real estate agent.
We hope you will help RevolutionsOnline usher in a new age -- The Age of Service Accountability (sm). Please help us by rating the service you have received -- good and not so good -- in the service areas on RevolutionsOnline.com. Tell someone you know about how good it feels to praise great service, and warn about poor service.
Don't let the Revolution start without you!
